As Apollo sales gained momentum, the machine company sought to end their partnership; they just weren’t set up to deliver products as quickly as Apollo required. Joel knew this was key to their success and spent the next month learning how to operate the equipment.

In 1995, they moved Apollo from their basement to a 1,000-square-foot location at 9011 Front Street, bringing with them their fax machine and the first manufacturing tool that they had purchased in 1993: a tabletop etcher.

Instead of three kids, a dog, and a cat for business companionship, they shared space with a family of raccoons who lounged on their computer keyboards and performed demolition to the walls at night. The size, however, seemed more than adequate and they hired their first employee.
